Specializing in Photo Restoration

Alicia through the years 1980-2023

About Me

I want to introduce myself. My name is Alicia Dallago, I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to the United States in 1977. Having fallen in love with photography and after becoming an American Citizen, I opened a portrait photography studio in Pittsburgh, PA. Knowing that without an education in Photography I would not be successful, I studied under the best photographers in the world, earning the top credentials in my field: the degrees of Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman.

My Journey in Photography

Through the years, my images have been on display in Epcot Center and the Cleveland Museum of Art, to name a few places, earning many awards, including two Kodak Gallery Awards, and I had the honor of being invited to be a speaker about children's portraiture at the Professional Photographers of America International Convention. My personal philosophy is to give back to my community, having raised over $200,000 to benefit Pittsburgh causes. Through my studio, I created a scholarship for victims of domestic violence, and I am very proud to acknowledge that 16 women graduated from college with my scholarship. For my involvement in the community, I have received several awards and have been recognized as one of Pennsylvania's 50 Top Business Women.

Rebranding my Passion

My life has changed, but my lifelong passion for the art of photography remains as strong as ever. Over the years, I've had the immense privilege of photographing thousands of portraits—watching babies grow into adults, and later being trusted to capture their own children. Now, I am channeling that same dedication into a new chapter. Because I am focusing on breathing new life into your family's treasured history, I am thrilled to rebrand Alicia Photography as Alicia Photo Restoration.

My Experience

47 Years of Photography

I fell in love with photography in Cleveland, OH, when I attended my first photography class: Photography as Art, and evolved into a portrait photography studio when I discovered the value that my portraits had for my clients. From my early days taking portraits with film cameras to mastering digital restoration techniques, each phase has deepened my appreciation for the power of preserving memories.

Award-Winning Professional

You might wonder why, in this day and age of digital photography, I decided to stop taking portraits and dedicate myself to restoring old photos. Here is the reason: after my mother's death, I inherited photographs of my ancestors that were fading, stained, and torn. Restoring pictures of my Great Great Grandparents made me see the emotional value of those images not only for me but also for my children and nephews. I started thinking about all the people who want to preserve their precious memories and decided to dedicate my skills to the restoration of old photos.

Why I Do What I Do

Photography has taught me that every image captures not just a moment in time, but the emotions, relationships, and stories that make us human. When I restore a photograph, I'm not just fixing pixels or removing scratches – I'm helping preserve family history and keeping precious memories alive for future generations. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing the joy on a client's face when they see their restored photograph for the first time. Whether it's a wedding photo of grandparents, a childhood portrait, or a family gathering, each restoration project reminds me why I'm passionate about my work.
