Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to restore a photo?
Usually takes three weeks. It depends on how complex the work needed to repair the damage is and whether the photo needs to be enlarged or colorized. I'll provide a timeline during our initial consultation. There is a fee of 20% for rush orders (less than one week).
What types of damage can you repair?
I repair tears, scratches, water damage, fading, overexposed images, color shifts, missing portions, sharpen, and general deterioration. I also make a sepia print from a black and white image or transform a sepia print into a black and white image, enlarge and colorize black and white and sepia images, remove people and/or objects from a photo, make a portrait out of a snapshot, and create a portrait from several photographs. I assess each project individually to determine the approach that will result in a work that you will love.
Do you work with digital files or physical photos?
I start by scanning your original print with my professional scanner and obtaining a high-resolution digital image. I do all the restoration work on the digital version. If you only have a digital file, its quality will determine how much work I will need to do to bring your image back to life.
Will my original photos be safe?
Absolutely. I handle all original photographs with extreme care; your originals are never altered. I do all the restoration work on the digital copies.
What formats do you deliver?
You will receive a free 5x7 print of the restored image and can order a digital file and extra prints of any size for an additional charge.
